Dirk Willems , the most famous Mennonite

lives on speaking peace and compassion .
We met the crazies from Munster.
Their cages still hang
in St. Lambert’s Church in the old city, because,
of their
strange actions
in the name of Jesus.
We met Peter and Peter,
not from history,
but flesh and blood today.
They told us the history of drownings and arrests,
and,
about their apology to Anabaptists in 2007.
for what the Reformed tradition had done.
Peter and Peter are retired Reformed pastors,
and.
Their apology comes from the heart .
While in Jordan, we met Rumi and Hafiz,
ancient poets
with short poems
with eternal meanings.
Rumi has a cafe/bakery named for him
with great coffee
with good cake,
I think he would approve
but I do no know for sure ?!?
We met many other people
with epic faith stories and,
much violence, hatred, war, trauma and cruelty.
Hopeful and sad.
