Coronavirus Good Friday 2020

Good morning,

Good Friday of Holy Week

Today's communion service can be found on Poole's website.

" Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. And Judas went to the chief priests and officers of the  temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. "  Luke 22:3-4

" For I tell you I will not eat again until it finds fulfillment in the Kingdom of God. " — the Last Supper

"  Jesus answered, " I tell you Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times. " — the Last Supper.

" When he rose from prayer, he went back to the disciples , he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. "  Luke 22:45

" Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them, ' The one I kiss is the man, arrest him.' Going at once to Jesus, Judas said. 'Greetings Rabbi', and kissed him."

           Matthew 26:48

"  Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, 'Are you not going to answer ? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you.' But Jesus remained silent .

       Matthew 26:62-63

" Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. Others slapped him and said, ' Prophesy to us, Messiah. Who hit you ?'"  Matthew 26:67-68

" So, they bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate. ' Are you the king of the Jews ?', asked Pilate. ' You have said so', said Jesus. " aren't you going to answer ? See how many things  they are accusing you of .' But Jesus still made no reply. Pilate was amazed . "   Mark 15:1,2,4

" Wanting to satisfy the crowd. Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified."  Mark 15:15

" 'Father,  forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing…. Truly I tell you , today you will be with me in paradise ….. Father, into your hands I commit my spirit'. When he said this, he breathed his last. " Luke 23:34, 43,46

" With Pilate's permission, Joseph of Arimathea came and took the body away. He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who had earlier visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds ."   John 19:38-39

Fill in the stories of the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth.     Reflect……remember…..and renew.

Be well and be safe today.
